Awkwafina
American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious songs that dealt with sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before increasing her presence in Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical experience. She was a trumpet player. Jazz, classical and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. In college, she studied writing and women's studies. She even spent an hour studying Mandarin in Beijing. After graduating, she began to concentrate on music. My Vag, her song My Vag which was her response to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick, became a huge hit on the Internet and was later featured on her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits including body-positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC BitcheUSD. The latter song was linked directly with another Awkwafina project NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. The resume of her included musicians and an author. She was now looking to further her career in acting. Aside from early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she's been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In 2018, she scored breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile films such as Dude Ocean's 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut film, In Fina We Trust.
